Of Infinite Importance

To condense all of the information I have will be difficult at best.  There are opinions of Christianity everywhere and not all of it is positive, which isn't a bad thing, but must be addressed.  I think that my thesis for this paper will be based on the quotation by C.S. Lewis, "Christianity, if false, is of no importance and, if true, of infinite importance.  The only thing it cannot be is moderately important."  I think that my paper will attempt to prove that Social Media has increased the apathy and atheistic attitudes of this generation and will look at the influence this will have on the future of the Church.

I wish I could say I have this paper outlined and planned out in that way at this point, but I don't yet. I'm not sure which of my resources I will use in the end and which will be left out of the final edit, but I am at the point now where I need to focus on the sources I'm taking in and determine whether or not they will actually contribute to my paper.  While it is coming together well and I'm learning a lot in research, it has come to the point where I need to determine how much I can present in the final paper without overwhelming or confusing the reader.

This paper won't be easy, I never thought it would be.  I welcome any and all input, information, opinions (positive, negative, neutral), etc. and definitely have some work to do before anything is solidified.

  1. This is a touchy subject, but good for you for stating your opinions and then backing it up with facts. I think it is a topic that should be discussed, but people never discuss it. I will be excited to see how your paper turns out. I only wished you included more facts from the past books you read. I did like how you included a quote. It's a good place to start! Good luck!

  2. Brittany, I applaud you for chosing such a hot button topic, especially one with such deep connections to your life. You have mentioned in the past that the church is gaining a presence in social media. This could be similar to how liberals once dominated the online scene, but now conservatives are gaining "e-parity". Do you think that social media will be what helps make Christianity more relatable and cause a resurgence? Or do you think that the side effect of social media (like narcism and impatience) may squander those efforts, despite the churches effort? You might want to look up some research on the psychological effects of social media and then relate that back to principles of Christianity. Also, do you think that the world's new opinions and tendencies may change biblical interpretation? Anyhow, go forth and conquer!

  3. Well, as one can see, you are putting a lot of effort into your research project. I too am having issues regarding condensing my information. From what I hear, you have a lot if resources and some sort of idea of what you want to include in your paper. I would like to know how your sources are helping/ not helping you. Overall, you have a lot of sources, show determination, and have increased your knowledge on the subject. Hopefully, you will be able to figure out how to organize your paper and find the project easier the more you get through it. Keep up the good work.
