I decided to write my research paper
on the Spanish surrealism painter Salvador Dali. Dali was one of the leaders of
the surrealist movement and an amazing creative artist. I decided to pick Dali
as my research paper topic because he has been my favorite artist since I first
saw his painting, The Elephants.
Surrealism experiments with the ideas of the imagination of the subconscious and
making it visual for the rest of the world. I find it interesting how one can
think of scenarios or visions that couldn’t possibly be real and find a way to
express them to others in the most real way. I hope to learn more about the
creative process of a surrealism painter, like Dali, and how they are able to
think the way that they do.
I adore Salvador Dali, but are you only going to read books on him, or are you also going to read about Surrealism? You mention in the last sentence that you would like to learn about the creative process of a surrealism painter, and the way that they think, but if you are only focusing on one painter, you won't get a broad veiw of the differences and similarities between different Surrealist artist, especially beacuse they all are very different like all artists. I know with my research paper, I first thought of doing Jackson Polluck, but I'm starting with his movement and seeing where that might take me in my research. Also, I'm as well curious in the artistic process with my research topic, so I'm going to be doing an Abstract Expressionistic painting while I write my paper, I don't know if you have thought of doing something similar? I'm deffinitly excited to read more about your paper, because Dali is just one of the greats that you can't get enough of.
