Irish Mythology

I decided to choose the topic of Irish Mythology Because of my heritage and interest in the topic. My entire family comes from Ireland. I would love to learn more about the folklore of where I have come from. I also think that the lore of Western Europe is very interesting. I love the myths and strange beings that the people of this part of the world conjure up to explain things. I love that most of the stories have connections to strange supernatural beings that usually end up being the demise of so many people. Lastly I love the designs that many people have come with to define these strange creatures of the night.

  1. I find this topic interesting too, especially since I am Irish as well. The Irish culture has unique art, myths, dance, and music. It's a great topic that covers almost all the main points in humanities, so I think it's a great idea! Will leprechauns be included in your paper? It might be neat to go into depth about leprechauns or the little people since most people don't know how the "leprechaun" first came about. I don't think I know any other Irish myths...

  2. Your choice of this topic is great both because it's interesting and because you chose something that connects to you personally. It's neat that you found something that may be able to teach you something about your heritage and through that maybe about yourself. Shamrocks would be a cool topic, I personally have no clue why a shamrock would be considered lucky since the plant can be found all over the place and it rather common,

  4. I'm glad you have family connections to the topic. It makes me think about how I forgot to explain why I chose my topics. So good job there, mate! I bet you can find some very funny, and also very old Irish tales.

  5. I love your enthusiasm in your topic, that is really inspiring. I'm glad you have that kind of drive towards your topic. Good luck researching; finding the deeper meanings in myths can be pretty tricky. I am impressed that you chose a topic that you can relate to, its always intresting to learn about your the heritage your family came from. I would much like to hear about all the unique Irish trademarks such as lepercauns, shamrocks, and that pot of gold under the rainbow. Good luck and I hope that I may see the final product of your paper.
